Dementia Care

For those needing specialised dementia care, our Alice Court unit strives to support its residents to lead a dignified and contented life.

Making a decision for your loved one is never easy and our Dementia Support Group will be here to assist you before, during and after your loved one is admitted to Alice Court.

Alice Court is a friendly, welcoming, secure unit within the Kamo Home and Village complex. The large gardens are accessible and designed to keep Alice Court residents stimulated and safe. Each resident has their own bedroom and although all furniture and bedding is provided, we encourage personal items of recognition. The residents share a spacious lounge, dining area and attractive outdoor area.

Alice Court is staffed by committed members of our care services team who are specially trained in dementia care. A registered nurse develops an individualised care plan for every resident to manage any medical requirements and oversee all other aspects of daily care. Residents also receive regular doctor, podiatrist and physiotherapist visits.

All meals and daily nutritional requirements are supervised by a dietitian and prepared by our catering team who take into account the special nutritional considerations of dementia. All laundry and housekeeping is taken care of by our housekeeping team.

Alice Court has its own designated activities coordinator who ensures activities are dementia specific and aimed to keep minds and bodies stimulated and active.

We maintain strong links with the Alzheimer Society who assist us to provide optimum care for our residents.

KHVCT are also proud to be Patron members of Club Northland who provide support to Alzheimer Northland.
