John is a Northlander born and educated, with degrees in Agri Science, Marketing and a Masters in Management. John has an extensive employment background in management and teaching, pursuing private business interests, sitting as an independent resource consents commissioner and serving as a Whangarei District Councillor.
Over the years John has served diverse community organisations such as Jaycee, Chamber of Commerce, Council of Social Services, and Presbyterian Support as a board member and chairman. Currently John is involved in Kiwi North, Road Safe Northland , NZ Automobile Assn, St John’s Church, Kamo Home and Village Trust plus a range of WDC Council roles.

Ian has a background in education, private hospital management and has spent over 25 years working at New Zealand’s two largest trust companies. He has held National Manager roles at both organisations and in that time has been responsible for marketing, sales, and investment products management. Ian has consulted in the education sector and as a project manager in the Not for Profit sector establishing the Whangarei YouthSpace in 2013. He is current Quality Assurance Manager at Perpetual Guardian.
After 20 years away from Whangarei, Ian and his wife Kate returned home in 2011. They now own a small avocado orchard in Maunu. The have two children and four grandchildren.
Ian remains heavily involved with Whangarei Youth Space, The Northland Voluntary Welfare Trust and has been a trustee of the Kamo Home and Village Charitable Trust since August 2013.

Stephen has considerable business expertise, and with his brother owns and operates two successful automotive businesses; the Nationwide Service Centre and Owens Suspension & Brakes, which they have developed and grown over the years.
Stephen and his wife live on a small life style block in Kauri and are active team members at Arise church, where they run a life group.

David represents the Methodist Church on the Kamo Home and Village Board of Trustees and brings the expertise of 40 years teaching Maths, Music, Physics and Computing in secondary schools. For the last 20 years (as Deputy Principal and occasional acting Principal) he led a wide range of standing committees developing many new projects and initiatives and was also involved in a number of community activities including TOPEC, AFS, Film and Music, Cricket and Hockey.
In Whangarei, David has been helping the most vulnerable (children, families, elderly) through membership of 155 Whare Awhina and NURM Boards, and the St Johns Golden Church Parish Council, where his wife Mary is the Minister. David is motivated by the belief in fairly sharing national resources and the need to action the Treaty of Waitangi.

Sharon served as a Whangarei District Councillor for 12 years, 6 of those as Deputy Mayor. As well as her experience in local government, Sharon has engaged extensively with civic projects - particularly in the Arts and the Regional Development sectors, and is patron of both Opera North and the Whangarei Sculpture Symposium. Sharon is also involved in the Retirement Sector through two family members living in retirement villages.
Sharon's early professional life was as a primary school teacher, teaching over a period of twenty years. Sharon exported Cymbidium Orchids internationally for 40 years, was the director of Morgan Engineering for 25 years and was the First female president of the Northland Rugby Union.

Greg is a Licensed Builder that has had a long association with Kamo Home and Village, since its inception in 1972. His mother Shelagh was appointed its first matron whom after retirement returned to live out her life as a resident.
Greg grew up on a dairy farm in rural Hokianga. He completed an apprenticeship in Carpentry and then worked overseas for a time after which he returned to Whangarei to raise a family. Greg established a small building business completing many residential projects. His business employed and trained apprentices. Greg also spent three years tutoring a Building Academy Programme at Tikipunga High School delivering Unit Standards and assisting students into apprenticeships.
Greg who has had a long standing interest in all things Maori represents the Trust as their Kaumatua.
